The SPC has issued a level 1 severe risk for the lower Southern Valley on Saturday due to the potential for damaging winds and a low (but not zero) chance of a Tornado during the late evening hours.

WHAT…

Heavy rain is expected to move through during the afternoon into the early evening hours. After that, cells are expected to develop on the backside across Middle Tennessee and move into our area by 7 p.m. Saturday.

HAZARDS…

The greatest potential for a tornado is south of I-40, with the damaging wind potential (30-60 MPH) expected west of I-75. Storms should taper down the further east the push – but could reorganize as they reach the TN/NC border.
