12:05 PM: Much of the area is currently hitting temperatures in the lower/mid-70s. Highs today are expected to reach the upper-70s/lower-80s in the afternoon. This puts the Tri-cities record temperature in jeopardy again after yesterday’s was tied at 86 degrees.

We’ve got some light clouds over parts of the plateau this afternoon. Other than that, the area is in the 70s with mostly clear skies.
Western NC
The highest peaks are in the upper-50s / lower-60s with no cloud cover. A spotty pop-up shower is possible but unlikely.
